Welcome from the Chamber President
On behalf of the Greater Darlington Chamber of Commerce, welcome to our website. The Greater Darlington Chamber of Commerce proudly serves Darlington, Lamar, and Society Hill and we are proud to promote our businesses and community to our members, residents, and visitors to our area.
We are an active chamber that looks to advance its members’ growth and prosperity, and to provide increased opportunities and value for its membership. The Chamber advocates for and unites the business community, conveys business interests to policy-makers and advances the region’s economic health. To carry out this mission, the Chamber serves as the voice of business and involves the public sector in community leadership.
In addition to vibrant committee work in Advocacy, Community Engagement, Membership Services and Membership Development, The Greater Darlington Chamber provides unique opportunities for members. This includes our special events including the Annual Banquet, Bow Ties and Pearls, The Toast of Darlington, and our most extravagant event Freedom Fest celebrating the Fourth of July. Of course, we cannot forget our newest event, Open House Darlington. Our popular events provide our members and the community an opportunity to network and meet new people, no matter what their schedule allows.
“Our community is an excellent place to do business and an excellent community in which to live. As the Chamber of Commerce President, I want to encourage you to become active in the community and in our Chamber of Commerce.”
To help our member businesses, we provide a variety of networking, advertising, educational, and social opportunities over the course of the calendar year. We also support collaborative efforts with the other local Chambers that provide additional opportunities for our members to initiate or build business relationships. The Chamber office staff is available to anyone who seeks information regarding our community. The office also encourages all residents and members to bring forward new ideas on how we can best serve each other to improve our community and our Chamber of Commerce.
Our community is an excellent place to do business and an excellent community in which to live. As the Chamber of Commerce President, I want to encourage you to become active in the community and in our Chamber of Commerce. Please review our Facebook page, Twitter, and our website for opportunities where you can help make a positive difference in our community. Join our Chamber members who volunteer in Chamber activities and participate in the many other community service organizations in our community. Remember that local purchases support our community and our schools. We will continue to pursue excellence in all that we do at the Chamber and in Darlington, Lamar, and Society Hill.
Thank you for the opportunity to be of service to you.
Harriet L. Hobbs, President
